David Gold has sent a message to the Hammers faithful, agreeing with Angelo Ogbonna’s take after the 2-1 win over Leeds at the weekend.
The Hammers had to dig in at Elland Road, as Raphinha actually gave Leeds the lead in the 19th minute.
A Junior Firpo own goal pulled the Irons level before Mikey Antonio showed remarkable calmness under pressure to slot home in the 90th minute and give the Irons all three points.
Gold took to Twitter after the game to comment on Ogbonna’s assertion that the Irons’ supporters were the 12th man throughout the encounter.
Quoting the Italian, DG simply wrote: “Agreed”.
The Hammers are now seventh in the Premier League table, having taken 11 points from our opening six games; the only defeat, of course, has come against Manchester United, and that was only due to Mark Noble’s penalty miss at the death.
The Irons play Rapid Wien in the Europa League on Thursday before taking on Thomas Frank’s impressive Brentford at the weekend.
