David Gold wants the fans to leave the Boleyn this afternoon having seen a “top game” as they go home for the summer.
The co chairman is hopeful the Hammers will sign off with a win against bogey team Everton who will be looking for revenge after the FA Cup defeat in a mini epic earlier in the season.
The game finished in a 2-2 draw with the Irons going through on penalties after being held to a draw at Goodison following a Premier League defeat.
There’s a lot riding on today’s game as far as Europa qualification is concerned with the Irons marginally in front of The Toffees in the Fair Play League.
DG told ClaretandHugh: “It’s a big game from many points of view but we want to go out in style after being on a bit of a downer.
“It’s important to send the fans home with good memories of the last game at home and I think we will give it a really good go today. We want a top game”
Central defender Winston Reid is likely to return to the heart of central defence alongside James Collins as the Hammers look to sign off the home programme with a much needed win before travelling to Newcastle for the final game of the season.
