DG talks Burke v Benteke

ReeceburkeDavid Gold is relishing a match against Aston Villa that could be the making of teenager Reece Burke.

The 18 year old makes his third League appearance against on fire Christian Benteke who has grabbed eight goals in six games and has been named by his manager Tim Sherwood as currently the best striker in Europe.

DG told ClaretandHugh: “The fans have been calling for the youngsters and Reece has done well so far but this is a massive test for him against the most in-form striker in the game.

“Sometimes Christian is unplayable but Reece has to find  way – it couldn’t be a bigger game for the young man and all Hammers will be behind him.”

DG added: “If I’m honest I believe the odds are with Villa because they have so much at stake but we have two clean sheets behind us and there’s plenty to play for. It’s a big game but the sub plot is very much Burke v Benteke.

“Many have also called for Reece Oxford to get his chance but he’s such a special talent we have to wait. Sixteen years of age is a whole lot different to 18 in football but he is set to become a top player in time.”

  1. No centre forward again great,Nolan plays again great,
Let’s hope 0-0 is good enough,
    Depressing what a crock

  2. Bfs Out!!! end of story,he is a joke!

  3. Allardyce must he the only geezer on the planet that cant see Nolan is shot away,he pants like an old man after the first 10mins.Its embarressing to watch.Allardyce is making a guy who was once influential for us into a laughing stock for fans & commentators alike.Every match the radio or tv commentators say he has had his day but Allardyce persists in pick him.It is taking loyalty to a ridiculous level & totally f*ckin up the team tactics & balance. Not that Allardyce has too many tactics i guess.BFS out!! Nolan thanks but bye also!!!

  4. Sam picks him for a reason which we can guess anyway we want, but surely DG or BRADY should step in but why don’t they??the mind boggles.

  5. I agree 99 if BFS calls himself a friend to Nolan then what he has done to him this year is disgraceful, playing him out of position trying to tell us he is a defensive midfielder just to fit him in the team,
Playing him when he has lost all his confidence,
He is not fit enough to play in the premier any more
You have humiliated your club captain and friend
Burke should have 12 or more games now not 3,why was he not played before ?
