DG: ‘This is the best West Ham board for years’

David Gold has claimed that West Ham’s board of directors  is the best the club has had for years.

The co-chairman came under fire from a member of the Twitter keyboard army last night and quickly responded.

Fan Jack Allum wrote that he believed ‘Allardyce was a shambles and the board even worse.’

But Gold snapped back :  “I shouldn’t say this Jack but this is the best board WHU have had for many years. dg”

Gold dodged the Allardyce statement and focused on defending his fellow board members.

However, his statement risks upsetting Honorary Life president and shareholder Terry Brown who was a previous chairman for 15 years until 2006 and the Cearns family who are still season ticket holders in the Alpari upper.

  1. I completely agree with David Gold’s sentiment. Although we are favoured by having a trio of experienced, credible and proven business people running the club, they are also passionate supporters, ambitious and committed. The current transfer window is evidence of that. Whilst it is not there yet, WHUFC is well on course to eradicate its debts and become a profitable business and as such will endure. Those short sighted individuals who rush to rant, should just stop for a moment to reflect before making complete fools of themselves.

I firmly believe that the owners of the club deserved far, far better than the dreadful results and performances of last week. The manager and those players who could have given so much more should feel very ashamed.

  2. I am old enough to remember the Cearns family and the West Ham way.

The present board are older than me but I doubt they ever supported West Ham.

If I am wrong why do they allow the current manager to play this dross.

We have a good squad and have improved with good buys but we still continue to pump the ball out from the back. Bobby Moore would be turning in his grave.

Southampton passed the ball the way we use to.

    We were embarrassing.

    • I too can remember the Cearn’s family era well and as much as i respect them, they never had me as excited about the future as now.We did have some great times, winning the F.A. cup ,Cup Winners cup etc.But although i loathe to leave The Boleyn, and the move should be handled with supporters consultation, i think the next few years could take our club to the next level.Well done to the board!

  3. Oh no we’ve upset Terry fecking brown, good, the mans a parasite. The cearns family, well yes they deserve respect imo
