Di Canio spoke to his legs says Cole

Former Joe Cole has revealed tales of his time at West Ham when asked about mavericks he worked with during his footballing career.

The 37-year-old named John. Moncur, Paolo DiCanio, and John Hartson as mavericks during his time at West Ham.

He recalled he once walked into Paolo DiCanio speaking to his legs before a game, he was giving them a pep talk and everything said the former Hammer.

Harry Redknapp agrees that Di Canio was a maverick. The former manager says Di Caniko was ‘difficult’ to work with.

The Italian spent five seasons at West Ham, scoring 51 goals in 141 appearances.

“He’d come in one morning singing ‘Volare’,” the former manager said.

“Everything would be great. He’d have the sunglasses.  He would then ‘kick my door saying the club was s***’ one day and ‘sing’ the next”

“But the next day he’d come in with the hump about something.”

“I had trouble but he was worth the hassle.” added Redknapp.

  1. The Argentine spent five seasons at West Ham
If Redknapp said this it shows huge ignorance of his player and how you count time.
The Italian spent three and a half seasons with us.

  2. Wish we had someone of his passion NOW..
