Diafra Sakho joins injury list

sakhoDiafra Sakho has joined West Ham’s injury list for Friday with a re-occurrence of back pain. With Andy Carroll suspended and Chicharito in doubt, it leaves Slaven Bilic potentially without a striker for Friday

Bilic told the press this afternoon “We have a couple that are out because of injury. James Collins is out for a matter of days and Sakho has back pain. He didn’t train since Burnley so he’s out of Friday’s game. They could both be back for the Spurs game.

“Chicharito had a slight problem but he’s training at 4pm and he should be good to train with us.It’s not a big thing. He trained and felt a little bit of a tight hamstring, so we scanned it which was important, and the scan was completely clear. He missed Wednesday’s light session and we expect him to train today and, based on his feeling, to be OK.

“Adrian had a stomach problem for a couple of days, but he is OK now and should train with us.”

  1. anyone could be forgiven for saying ‘ that’s the end of our season.’

  2. Bilic !!!!
Hasn’t trained since Burnley ? Why haven’t we been in formed earlier ? Stinks 💩

  3. I am probably being paranoid but it feels to me as if something is going on that we aren’t being told about, something just seems to be off, we are told by Bilic that it’s Ginge and Possibly Hernandez out, other than that a full squad to pick from and now he says Sakho hasn’t trained since Burnley so there are a lot of mixed messages aren’t there ?

  4. Seems to me that Sakho makes all the noise about not playing when he’s not picked, and then when it comes around that he will start he suddenly gets the old back pain again.

    • Don’t disagree with that Alan, the thing is if his contract expires at the end of season I could understand it because he can sign a pre-contract with non British teams (Rennes for example) in January and might not want to get injured but I read today that his contract doesn’t expire at the end of the season contrary to popular belief so its hard to guess what is going on, one minute we hear all is well with Sakho and Bilic has a full squad bar Hernandez, Ginge and Carroll next he says Sakho hasn’t trained since Burnley with a back injury, likewise Adrian does an interview in Spain when he says why shouldn’t he be open to moving overseas because Bilic isn’t playing him, the next Adrian denies it, if things don’t add up usually something is going on, most of the players when subbed look mystified by it or annoyed, Zab says Sakho is our best striker and should be in the team, just feels like there is a bit of disunity doesn’t it ?

  5. I agree this doesn’t all add up, so how do we go from ‘Billic has selection problems because apart from Ginge the entire squad is fit’, to this debacle. Ready made excuses for another feeble performance and a lucky 1-1 draw me thinks.

  6. What an opportunity for Martinez to get a long awaited debut.

    • Bilic already said no Martinez in squad for Brighton game h64 in the same message he said Sakho was unfit.

  7. Wow!!! Not looking good……I think Bilic has lost the dressing room, if we don’t get this settled soon, WE WILL BE RELEGATED…… Look what happened to sides like Leeds, Nottingham Forest MASSIVE CLUB’S EUROPEAN CUP WINNERS……it’s a long way back!

  8. Sakho joins the injury list?? He has always been injured – his injury record is worse than Carroll – yet on here Hugh continues to worship him? Not sure what else he has to do – he has tried negotiating own transfer – gone awol – refused to train – fake injury – but he remains the answer to our prayers ….. give me strength – having been a season ticket holder for 31 years – the sooner we are rid the better.

  9. Again and again. We rarely seen chicarito got injury at leverkusen, so do michail antonio at Nottingham. Is there anybody think that several injury is setting up? Just in case that if hammers lose, they can blame on it.

  10. My concern would be training. How do you practice with No forwards., how do the defenders get worked with no opposition? Then we wonder why they get split during a game. As I understand it the other club forwards are training with the U 23 I hope that I am wrong. It gets more frustrating and incomprehensible with everything coming out of that training ground.

  11. Well, according to Bilic Hernandez should be ok. This would be fine if it was not for the fact that we have heard this from Bilic about players so many times before & they have not played. is it y imagination or do most of out injuries occur ‘ in training’ ? I am sure we are not alone in this but even so, makes you wonder…

  12. Whoa – Bilic to blame cos Chico felt a twinge in training but should be Ok for Friday, and because Sakho has the old bad back syndrome again. Ffs. Bischma75 is right, Sakho’s fitness and general attitude are beyond a joke yet we herald him as our saviour. You couldn’t make it up. And since when was it in our interests to tell the opposition early doors who is and isn’t available? Antonio, Ayew and Anotovic are all supposed £20m plus players who can play up top, aren’t they? So let’s all calm down and see what transpires tomorrow evening. I’m half expecting cries of we can’t cope without Carroll next!
