Diafra Sakho is still in France missing training at Rush Green for the second day running after allegedly agreeing on personal terms to join French Ligue 1 team Rennes. France Football claims the Senegal striker and his representatives “do not understand” what has happened over the last 24 hours.
He will remain in France on transfer deadline day in an attempt to push through a move. Club sources confirmed this morning that he has not reported for training at Rush Green.
The West Ham striker is claimed to passed a private medical at the Ligue 1 club yesterday with Rennes offering a £9m fee mostly made up of add-ons. Sakho faces a fine of up to two-week wages for breach of his contract for missing training without the club’s permission.
Despite late interest from Crystal Palace David Gold and David Sullivan went on the record yesterday with Claret and Hugh to confirm their player is not for sale.
Hammers co-owner David Gold last night tweeted: “Diafra Sakho is not for sale in this transfer window he is an integral part of our first team squad and will play a part in our recovery.”
Sell him now. This is disgusting.
sakho: i want to leave
board: (scoff & chortle) yeah sure, get fit and find someone who will buy you and then we’ll talk
sakho: ok
sakho: ok so rennes want me, they will pay the money and i’ve passed the medical
board: (gulp) no that’s not going to work
sakho: er, what?
Just don’t understand it all, if he doesn’t want to be here get rid, bit of a profit, should Have forked out on others by now, We continue to be a laughing stock, Its still August and I want the season over already, get Gibson from Boro at the back, please not Wilshere, just another crock, COYI
I think that it must be past time for Hugh to stop his, frankly absurd, defence of this man.
No, time to make a stand. Keep him. Fine him. Encourage UEFA to investigate why Rennes have acted without our permission. Then concentrate on buying some players that are going to improve the first 11 sharpish
Use him as a makeweight in the Carvalho deal
Sell him and move on, all leaving a sinking ship, with a manager in limbo who would want to sign, needed a new manager, Dembele, and Carvalho today, looks like we will get none of the above. Can’t wait for Huddersfield at home, the place could explode.
