DIAME: “Really serious injury”

WEST HAM 0 Manchester City 3 (aggregate 0-9)

Sam Allardyce has revealed the shock news that Mo Diame (below) has suffered a really serious injury.

dIAMEThe powerhouse midfielder was caught on the right foot and left shin before going down three minutes from the final whistle.

And a crestfallen Allardyce appeared before the TV cameras to reveal the grim news soon after the game.

Joe Cole was also taken off with a groin injury which the manager said shouldn’t keep him out too long before adding: “Mo Diame’s looks a really serious injury.”

The manager – sounding almost nervous in his match summing-up – criticised the shocking defending which gave City their opening ‘unmarked’ headed goal while Razvan Rat and James Tomkins looked at each other.

And he rued the Kevin Nolan “offside goal” more or less immediately afterwards claiming: “That’s how our season has been going.”

He then paid tribute to Negredo saying: “His strength and power is outstanding but you can’t commit the number of mistakes we did at this level and get away with it.”

  1. I know its not cool to defend Sam Allardyce at this time, but after last nights injuries you can understand why he did what he did at Notts Forest.
Diame out for who knows? and Joe Cole out for a couple of weeks with a groin injury seems a very expensive night when we were only playing for pride.

    Thank goodness Carroll survived.
