Diame: “West Ham played very well”

Mohamed Diame has admitted it was “strange” to play against his former team-mates in the match against the Irons on Monday evening.

But he admitted that dfespite wanting to win the games he believes the Hammers “played very well.”

Reacting carefully after the game he declared: “I enjoyed my debut very much. We wanted to win the game but in the end it was a draw and West Ham played very well.

“It was strange playing against my old team and colleagues, but it is something that I had been looking forward to while I was away on international duty.

“I was dreaming on Sunday night that I would score two, but in the end it was just one. But it was still a very special moment.”

Diame in fact showed some class after sidefotting Hull’s second goal past Adrian clearly refusing to celebrate.
