The 44 times capped French international – now over at Charlton – has discussed his time at Upton Park in the official programme as shared by Eurosport UK.
He said: “My first experience in England was frustrating because I didn’t play many games at West Ham.
“They played a lot of long balls but for me that is too easy. I’ve always played hard stuff. I like to get into position with pressure.
“But that’s in the past for me now.
“I didn’t learn anything during my two years at West Ham. I’ve learned more in the last month at Charlton because we try to play football. We try to keep possession and win every game and for me that is football.”
At the weekend he scored his first goal in English football, against our biggest rivals Millwall.
We played alot of long balls? Dont believe that for one minute. He clearly hadnt watched much Allardyce football if he was suprised.I cant wait for this season to finish now.Never thought i would be saying that in December.Last few matches just seem pointless now.
Yep Diarra, another one who thought he could just walk into the team. Just like Zarate. Then he gets injured after doing very little and the club get him back fit. Now he plies that fantastic trade in the Championship, where even some Charton fans are complaining he’s ****e……
Bottom line, he wasn’t good enough and he thought he was.
Certainly was and who bought him. Don’t say DS – he was a SA buy as was Maiga!!! You make the points against him so well
He did exactly the same at Newcastle, signed a load of sh*te.Alan Smith,David Rosenthal,Geremi,Capaca,Faye.Nothing has changed.Every single one of these players were never heard of again apart from Faye & Alan Smith whos next move was to the MK Dons.As for Diarra,he was good enough to captain France in a world cup match in 2010 but not good enough for Sam in 2012.Why the hell did he sign him then, lol. If he stays in the summer DS & Henry should do the signings & maybe they can give him some pocket money to buy his own signings.About 500k will do 😉
