Dicksie’s ‘bemused’ Twitter response

|

DicksJulian Dicks has given short shrift to a fan who had a moan-up about the roles of Aaron Cresswell and Carl Jenkinson

Both were seen as attacking players during the game against Leicester City today when they were allowed time off from defensive duties.

That, however, wasn’t good enough for a Twitter follower who declared: Our best attacking play last season came through full backs, why has Slaven stopped them from getting forward as much.”

A seemingly bemused Dicksie  snapped back: “Do you really believe that?”

Any manager with half a brain knows our fullbacks are key to our attacking play so would naturally target them. This year they are going to have to work out how to deal with the extra attention they are going to get from other teams

I only watched the live text yesterday but Jenks had 2 shooting chances plus was in quite a few build ups Cresswell was not mentioned alas much but his free kick duties have gone to Payet and Zarate now,
We needed wing backs yesterday as we lacked attacking midfielders and forwards,
There are a lot of miserable fans out there who moan non stop,

welcome dicksy to the world of the fan who thinks footballers are incapable of independent thought and action. I actually thought cresswell and jerks tried to get forward at every opportunity but were well shackled by the Leicester defence. Jenkinson in particular had two players on him when he tried to get forward and whip a cross in.
