Dicksy “would have put someone up in the air” if we’d played like that says Ian Bishop

|

bish1Former Hammers favourite Ian Bishop reckons Slaven Bilic has to start lighting fires under a few players and claims he is the right man to sort out our current issues.

Bish — who made 255 appearances for the club from 1989 until 1998 — said: “West Ham are a bit like Humpty Dumpty right now and Slaven has just got to put them back together.

“They have the quality — but he needs to light a fire under a few of them. Trust me, in Slaven and Dicksy, West Ham have the two best people to do exactly that.”

Discussing the dreadful Arsenal humiliation he snapped: “Imagine what it would’ve been like in our dressing room if we’d performed like that in a derby when they were playing — they’d have been tearing our heads off.

Speaking to the Sun Bish added: “Julian would have put someone up in the air. He would’ve sparked something from us.”

And Bishop — who now lives and coaches in Florida — believes the time has come for the Bilic to take a leaf from  Pep Guardiola’s book and drop star players.

He said: “Look at what Pep did – leaving Sergio Aguero out away at Barcelona.

“It lit a fire under Aguero and he came back and scored two goals against West Brom.

“Slaven has proved that he can get that team playing. He just needs to find it again.

“If you don’t get that intensity and dedication back, you start to lose your better players.

“They feel like if they’re going out there all on their own, it’s a lost cause for them.

“You must be careful that doesn’t happen because then you’re done.”m in turmoil as I’ve just broken up
