VAR Missed TWO More Hammers Red Cards

Things could be worse for West Ham United right now. Believe it. Even though Alvarez was dismissed for a second yellow card, lunging in just before half time in his accustomed brainless manner, it seems that not one but TWO possible straight reds were missed by the on-field referee. Amazingly we could have ended the game with eight players on the pitch in The Irons’ dreadful, public loss of discipline.

In another abject failure of its primary role, the Video Assistant Referee missed- in my humble opinion – one, if not TWO possible straight reds.

The Crysencio Summerville lash out at Ryan Yates was every bit as bad as Mohammed Kudus’ first slap at Spurs: It looked as if Summerville kicked out at Yates’ head in frustration – Yates stayed down and I waited for the ‘investigation’ to commence. Nothing. Similar incidents come to mind (notably thanks to TheSun) – in last years’ Wolves v Luton fixture “Wolves new boy Jean-Ricner Bellegarde handed red card for kicking Luton’s Tom Lockyer in groin” – which makes it very surprising that no VAR check seemed to take place.

Guido Rodriguez also received a yellow for a dreadful, late studs-up ‘old fashioned’ tackle in the 18th minute: Again, this seemed to go un-investigated at the time but in retrospect I have seen red cards handed out for less.

It really did seem as though the Alvarez incidents were not isolated, the whole team seemed frustrated and lacking in discipline. Which comes from the top.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. 'Football is Life' oh yes. Let it raise your spirit but never darken your mood. Life's too short not to enjoy the journey with our Claret and Blue heroes n' villains.

Just because it dosen’t come up on the screen you can be sure that VAR looked at these incidents and came to the conclusion not to intervene.

Still no-one will comment on Steiden’s role in all this. Purchase of poor players, not having any say about the choice of manager (if that really were the case I’d have expected him to have resigned). And the players themselves: no pride but plenty of the Great I Am. It’ll be a bad day for the on-line warriors when Sullivan departs. Who will they blame then? Bobby Moore’s statue?

Did you say “It’ll be a bad day for the on-line warriors when Sullivan departs.”? You must have meant, “It’ll be a bad day for the on-line warriors when I depart.” That is the only possible way that sentence makes sense. Get out of the way, you are the problem. Also, keep Bobby Moore’s name out of your mouth. Maniacal!

…said someone who thinks he’s everyone. was Bobby Moore your da, or were you just a skinhead who took too many Doc Martins to the head in the 70s? what a pox!

The lack of discipline comes from the chaos of the coach. No clear tactics, out of form players being picked players not in their best positions and being thumped by the opposition with the feeling of no way back. Every player is worse since Lopetegui came in and the circus has to stop.

Things have got to change we can’t continue as we are JL needs to go before we end up fighting relegation and given the way things are I can see us going down and our best players will be demanding a transfer so making getting back up extremely difficult the whole squad seem to be confused by JL tactics as our fans the board need to act now to give a new manager the international break to get to know the players and sort out the mess moyes and JL have made
