From the moment we saw the communication via Sean Whetstone this morning, from our highly ranked insider at London Stadium detailing the possible outcomes today of ‘could be zero, could be three out, two in‘ we’ve been searching to discover  the identity of the players likely to come in.

One was fairly straightforward – and a very welcome addition – Carlos Soler had been the worst kept secret of the window and a player we have been seemingly trying to sign all summer. Hopefully he’ll pass his medical and join before 11 tonight.

The identity of the second target for deadline day appears to have been revealed: It is Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka.

The attacking midfielder had apparently been a high priority target for West Ham but ‘various sources’ who knew had agreed to keep the player’s identity secret so as not to alert other clubs to West Ham United’s interest.

Whether the release of his Identity means we’ve settled for Soler, and Chukwuemeka was the back-up plan, or whether we are still pursuing – time will tell but who can say for sure this window. 20 Years old central midfielder, Tim Steidten is a huge fan, apparently, so he would have ticked a lot of boxes.

Premier League rules mean only two active loan players can be registered at the same club at the same time – although four could be on the books if not all in the squad.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

So much, for not going for tammy Abraham as a striker to help along side fullkrüg but still having enough midfielders etc etc etc
    We need a loan striker

  • Charlie Farley says:

Is he a good player, then? And do we need another midfielder?

  • Bournehammer says:

    I stand corrected.
Players aged 21 and younger can be loaned outside of the limit.
    Happy Days.

It’s a max of 2 loans in a squad. Max 4 loans in a season. No other allowances so this one is a non starter

  • Benny the Aussie says:

Yes I think it’s only 2 from inside England and a few from outside is allowed. Im thinking we can only loan out 5 players for memory

  • Kevin Perlmutter says:

Doesn’t the ‘two loan rule’ just apply to loands from Premier league or domestic clubs?
