In an incredible turn of events which nobody could have foreseen, Manchester City are on the verge of signing 19-year-old forward Divin Mubama after he opted to leave West Ham, rejecting a new contract offer.
Th Hammers academy graduate found his first team options limited last season as he declined all offers of a new West Ham deal.
Mubama is expected to primarily train with City’s Under-21 squad but will occasionally join Pep Guardiola’s first team. That goes against the reasons given for his refusal to sign a contract at the time, citing lack of first team minutes under then manager David Moyes.
As Mubama left West Ham while under the age of 24, a compensation fee is required. The two clubs are currently negotiating this fee, but if an agreement isn’t reached, an independent panel will determine the amount. West Ham is reportedly seeking a seven-figure compensation package, factoring in potential future performances. It is thought that a figure of £1m transfer fee may be close to the final sum.
I really can’t see him making it at Man City, but good luck to the guy and fair play if he manages to make it a success.
All about filling the homegrown quota
I never did think that Mubama would make it at premier league level and I still don’t. Whatever payment we receive is a result.
Is it April 1st ? 🤔
If this move happens it will be interesting to see if Pep really has the magic touch.
City fan here City have been linked with everyone and i dont see this guy going to city at all. We have plenty of attacking options better than this guy.
Does anyone know how much compensation Watford has paid for Ngkakia? Might give us an indication.
Didnt see thaymt coming? You dont know much about West Ham then as they tried to sign him a couple of years ago so have always been interested

A talentless closet polisher who would struggle to score in a brothel.
That comment is a bit off! I assume you are not a Hammers fan.
At worse they will find a good loan for him. I wish him the best.
How we turn so quickly 😉
Not long ago many were calling for Ings to be sidelined, Bowen to be kept in attacking midfield and talking up this youngster as the next best thing, especially after a very promising pre-season run-out in Perth Aus. We (myself included) slated Moyes for not giving him game time and using him at 80+ mins in games that were already over.
He came across well in front of the cameras and we’ll never really know his true reasons for leaving.
From my comfortable standpoint I wish him well and hope that things pan. Who knows he could make his mark somewhere and return one day, I’d welcome him back with open arms.
On ya Divin, good luck mate!
What Man City do now is hoover up young talent and then sell them on later for big profits because teams pay over the odds for youngsters from Man City. When he was given opportunities in our first team I didn’t think he was good enough. Can’t see the lad ever playing for City but good luck to him. He will probably get loaned out to put him in the shop window.
Not another one 🙄 It’s NOTHING to do with being “homegrown”,and there is no “quota”. He’s under 21,therefore will not be part of the 25 man squad. They will put him out on loan and sell him at an inflated price
“We’ll never know his true reasons for leaving”
I disagree
I believe this move shows exactly why. A delusional young centre forward that wanted too much money thus turning down our fair offers.
This is worse than Phillips joining, at least he had a small chance.
Such a shame when money corrupts but my feeling is that his career is dead now. but good luck and prove me wrong
