Dimitri Payet first quotes

payet“West Ham really showed me that they wanted me to come, both the Joint-Chairmen and the manager,” Payet told whufc.com. “That’s very important for me. I was also keen to sign up to a clear project. West Ham’s is very interesting and matches perfectly with my ambitions. ““Firstly I spoke with the manager, who really wished for me to come here and had been watching me a lot. He made it clear that he wanted me to sign and that too was important in my choice.

“I’m an attacking footballer so for sure I like attacking football and that they’re counting on me to help achieve that gives me a sense of responsibility. The fact that I’m here is also down to that.”

“I’m very happy to be here. It’s true that it’s taken a little while but that’s normal, negotiations are like that. But now that it’s done, I’m very happy.”

  2. He would have lovedlaying for Hippo,

  3. wow… I really like this guy… he’s a class player… well done Davids!

    The next one please 😉

  4. so much positive talk coming from our club these days .. i love it

  5. He missed out the “West Ham are a massive / big club with brilliant fans” line from his interview. Hope he performs better on the pitch! 😉

  6. Nothing to do with the money then?!!
Don’t get me wrong, a great signing, but everyone knows Marseille desperately wanted him to stay but couldn’t match West Ham’s wheelbarrow-full of cash that was on offer. Be nice if a player was honest for a change lol

  7. At the end of the day we all go where the money is!
As long as he bangs em in I couldn’t give a flying!
Now sign cabye and we are starting to look like a team capable….. For once. COYI
    P.s il see you Thursday

    • Yes jwood, Cabaye is the other one I would love to see sign. With the foreign legion joining some of the ‘old wood’ might be feeling a bit insecure.

  8. He said some nice things to begin with. But did he also stand on the North Bank as a kid with his dad watching his beloved Hammers 20 years ago ? LOL

  9. Haha true enough H and has he had the C&B blood test yet. After a long wait today is a day to be happy not fret or analyse, enjoy the moment I am.

  10. What a great day but hang on where will kev play lol. Hopefully as far away as poss.on a serious note where will Noble fit in

  11. Noble will have to buck his ideas up or he wont be in the team, let alone captain as some suggest he should be.

    • Yes Stingray the ones like Noble will struggle to get selected.Bring on Cabaye,Abdenour,Song etc thanks.

  12. I suppose there’ll be a bit of rotation and then the most impressive will hold their places until form dips. I think Slav will bring the best out of them all.

  13. I heard Slav was going to get Nolan a set of these made up to give him a little more pace 😉
