Diop wants to keep clean sheet rolling

Issa Diop loves nothing more than a clean sheet and four of them fills him with delight!

Another against Oxford United could beĀ  on the agenda tomorrow night although after scoring 19 goals this season clearly the O’s carry a potent threat.

Diop was involved in the 2-0 defeat of Newport County and as a part of the team tomorrow will be determined to keep things going.

He has regularly preached the clean sheet message and it will be interesting to see whether it’s Oggy or The General who helps him tomorrow should he get the call.

With Aaron Cresswell looking to maintain his form after a top game against Manchester United, hopes are high that we can again come away from a tricky match with a fifth goal-less opposition scoreline recorded.

Diop’s form has been outstanding of course and he certainly doesn’t believe the recent successes in that area are a coincidence.

Speaking at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2019/september/24-september/diop-our-hard-work-paying the young Frenchman said: “Keeping clean sheets is great. Of course it’s easier to win a game when you don’t concede goals, so it’s a good thing. We work hard in the week to keep clean sheets.

“The season is long and we know we have to play every game like a final. We have to keep going like this.”
