Does AC have an Irons future? Fans speak out

Carroll-West-Ham-team-news-541122Andy Carroll’s West Ham future has been under discussison  for months.

And just before Christmas a member of the media asked manager Slaven Bilic whether the centre forward would be on the market this winter.

Slav’s response was that he didn’t think so which hardly seemed conclusive and tonight ClaretandHugh asked members of its forums at the site and @https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/ whether they thought Carroll would stay or go.

Here’s part of the reaction.https://www.facebook.com/groups/363174467150521/

O I say sell him he’s never going to be 100% and we do need a forward who is going to score. Sakho injured, great work rate but not as prolific as he was, Jelavic is poor, Valencia jury is still out.

O If we sell him, how guaranteed are we to be able to replace him with someone better/fitter in January? Unlikely so I think Bilic needs to make it work.  But to be clear, I don’t think he should be sold at all

O Get him 100%. He’s a rare striker in today’s game and needs to be used best way possible to get full effect
O I think they may well be getting ready to sell if the right offer comes in. A fit Carroll could be a big asset but we all know how hard it is to believe he will stay fit and Slav seems to want to play differently. We do need a plan b but Carroll is an l is an expensive plan B – I can see them doing a deal with a fee heavily linked to appearances.

O He gets injured too much and when fit, doesn’t seem to fit Bilic’s style. Bilic could have lumped balls up to him (when he was fit) but his style doesn’t allow him to – which, in normal circumstances I would applaud him for. We could use the money and if used wisely, would go along way to getting a goal scorer.

O Time to let him go, if we get a decent offer we need to accept it.

O Sell him in the summer unless we get a big offer in Jan from BFS or Newcastle. Enough is enough and a parting of the ways is required.

O Nine goals in two and a half seasons ! Signed by a man who wouldn’t know a striker if he fell over 1 ! Bank busting wages ! Never fully fit ! Doesn’t suit the new style of play ! The whole nuisance factor is over rated ( when did he last terrorise any1 ? ) ! Wether we can get a replacement in or not in January I’d cash in & cut our loses if sum1 offered 7 or 8 mill ! If we’re totally honest the whole Carroll saga as been slightly embarrassing
