West Ham look set to complete their first signing of the transfer window, according to breaking reports.

It will come as no surprise to learn that the first arrival is likely to be Senegalese wing-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague.

Multiple outlets in Senegal and the Czech Republic are now reporting that a deal has been agreed between West Ham and Slavia at €25m plus add-ons.

Senegalese news website Wiwsport claims that Diouf is set to fly to London this weekend to finalise the transfer.

C&H learnt earlier today that wages have already been agreed with the player. A Hammers transfer insider told us this morning that the deal was “likely to happen imminently”—and it now appears that the final piece of the jigsaw has fallen into place with the fee settled between the two clubs.

20-year-old Diouf will replace the outgoing Emerson, presumably on a much lower wage. The youngster caught the eye during an international appearance against England, where West Ham scouts—originally sent to monitor Habib Diarra—were reportedly impressed by Diouf’s performance and recommended him to the club.

With medicals expected this weekend, West Ham are finally off the mark in the transfer market—and Graham Potter will no doubt breath a huge sigh of relief.

Don’t get me wrong..hopefully a decent signing but all the hype around this deal seems to have outshone, imho, a far better signing in Cummings.

Looks decent from the YouTube’s, not sure if he is better than Cresswell or Emerson but he is young and has potential if we keep Scarles also will give us two good options on the left.

    Whoopee.
Keep Kudus and Paqueta until they reach expected transfer fee.
    Just another 4 signings.
    Job done.
If Potter has any substance he will get them playing together.

Left back / wing back. 25 appearances for Slavia Prague and 4 for Senegal. Twenty, joined Slavia for 2.5 million Euros January last year. 7 goals 2 assists 76% passing accuracy. 4 yellows but two were in the same game. His other stats look middling. I guess that the thinking is that at his age it’s likely that he can be improved.
