Dortmund confirm talks ongoing for Yarmolenko

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has told German newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten that Andriy Yarmolenko could leave the club and that the BVB are in negotiations with another club widely reported to be West Ham.

The sporting director was asked the question after Yarmolenko was missing from pre-season training with Zorc confirming he has been “officially released for talks with another club”

Yesterday Sky reports suggested that West Ham had made a £17.5m bid for Borussia Dortmund winger Yarmolenko which had been accepted but Zorc’s comments to the German media suggest talks are still ongoing and a fee is yet to be agreed.

The 28-year-old only joined Dortmund from Dynamo Kiev last August for £22m, but he has struggled to find his best form in Germany, netting just six goals in 26 appearances. The Ukraine international was a prolific scorer in Kiev, scoring 137 goals in 341 matches.
