Sam Allardyce is hopeful he will be able to launch Enner Valencia and Carl Jenkinson into action against Palace on Saturday.
Valencia grabbed seven minutes of action against Spurs on Saturday – showing himself to be a real presence even in that short period.
And ClaretandHugh has learned that Carl Jenkinson had been expected to play but failed to pass a late fitness test.
A source told us: “Carl looked sorted and it was a surprise when he failed to get through the test although hopefully he should be ready for this weekend. ”

Allardyce is also saying in press conference new players (Valencia) need to ease themselves into Prem. So if what you’re reporting has come from the Board I can see Vslencia playing a very lonely role up front on his own. And remember we are away. God help us.
Think we all know that at our club the ONE up front doesn’t work because theres no back up!! Nolan used to get forward to poach of of Carroll but thats not happening ..Im not a big Cole fan but what do we expect. he takes the ball with his back to the goal and NO ONE to lay it off to!! tell me im wrong PLEASE.

What???
Sam Allardyce, the man who makes John Prescott sound eloquent!
I have never posted to a blog before, but this clown is destroying the club I’ve supported for fifty years. He has to go and the sooner the better.
His use of the English language is utterly criminal Phil – couldn’t agree more. Him and Hoddle at a dinner party? Nooooo!
As the blessed Glenn would doubtless say ‘For sure, very much so!’
At the end of the day when he has set his stall out and everything and all that!!!!
