David Sullivan – delighted to see Enner Valencia back on the pitch against Stoke – is ready to welcome back the big two!
Writing in his ‘From the Boardroom’ column on the official site the chairman said: “Manuel Lanzini is also close to making a return and I know that Slaven has said that Dimitri (Payet) is ahead of schedule so that is a major boost for everyone at the club.
We have another big game against Swansea on Sunday and I know the management will be working hard with the players as we look to get back on the winning trail at the weekend. “
He claimed that just as was the case at Old Trafford “we could have easily had all three points” but added “it is just a matter of time before our luck turns.”
He said: “Mauro Zarate was desperately unlucky not to get the goal of the season as we hit the post again and how we didn’t win the game in the last 20 seconds when the ball was cleared off the line twice, I still don’t know!
“I will mention it again but over a season for every time you hit the post you score four goals, so we are now due 15 or 20 before we hit the post again!
