Dyche nails difference between Irons/Clarets starts

sean-dyche-burnleyBurnley boss Sean Dyche has nailed the difference between the Clarets and West Ham as he prepares for the game at Turf Moor tomorrow.

But he admits he has been surprised by his team’s start to the season declaring: “”I think it’d be unrealistic for me to say that I knew that [start to the season] would happen, because I didn’t.

And asked about the difference between the start his side had made as opposed to the Irons he said: “There’s maybe an added element of expectation at clubs like West Ham that there isn’t for ourselves.

Burnley’s Icelandic star Johann Berg Gudmundsson is hoping the Clarets can overcome a home record which has seen the club win only once in 10 games since 1978.

He said: “Our focus is on delivering performances and we’ve done that well so far. It’s (West Ham) a tough game. Our away form has been unbelievable.

Probably we should have taken a bit more at home, so hopefully that will start again on Saturday.”

  1. As a pessimist I always look at stats like that & say ‘They must be due a win’. The law of averages says that over a 40 year period there is no reason for Burnley to keep losing to/drawing with us. Especially when they are sixth & we are fifteenth! Hope I am wrong. Draw would be a good result in my book- as long as we win the next two.
