A late Manchester United goal denied Nottingham Forest the chance to open up daylight ahead of West Ham in the Premier League relegation battle.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s former side — now managed by Sean Dyche — were leading 2-1 against United and looked set for a crucial win. Fortunately for the Hammers, Amad Diallo’s late strike salvaged a draw for the visitors and kept Forest firmly in the mix at the bottom.
Burnley lost 2-0 to Arsenal, while ten-man Wolverhampton Wanderers remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just two points following a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.
Hammers Still in Trouble
That said, the league table still makes grim reading from a West Ham perspective, with the Hammers sitting a worrying six points behind Scott Parker’s Clarets.
Nobody is expecting much when Nuno’s side face Newcastle United tomorrow at the London Stadium — but make no mistake, a win would be incredibly handy if we’re to avoid being cut adrift
Only nine games played and we are already six points off safety.
We need at least four points from.these two home matches coming up alas though I can’t see it happening.
Seems that we are hoping that other teams might be deducted enough points to finish below our four.
Reminiscent of the hopes and strategy of Avram Grant. We all know how that worked out.
Sorry Gonzo, a win would be great but can’t see it happening. 3 nil Newcastle I think unless we get a sensible team picked, which again I can’t see happening, but if it does 1 -1 draw I think!
West Ham don’t need to worry about other teams, that’s beyond their control.
They need to get their act together and start winning football matches, but at the moment that seems like a very hard task, unfortunately !
