Each time they go behind they quit!

By CandH follower West Ham Fan No 32

We are only four points off joint 5th in the table.

However, the last two performances are light years away from such lofty ambitions nd it’s down to  series of of individual errors to which we have become familiar for years.

Consistently we have the lion’s share of possession in matches but, unlike the best teams. our possession lacks pace and penetration.

I don’t care how many goals we concede so long as we score more than our opponents so it’s clever and incisive play that Manuel Pellegrini has to develop.

We would have been this bad defensively last season without Fabianski so  we are just conceding more because our reserve keeper is nothing like as good – the whole team has to help him become less exposed less often.

I don’t want to see us go ultra defensive to solve the problem which is what is starting to happen on opposing team set plays. We now bring everyone back which, with our lack of pace, removes the threat of the counter attack.

We have a top manager his credentials have been proved in Spain and England, we have a squad that can compete for Europe.

They  are not playing well enough and probably not in the way they are being coached. Every  time they go behind they quit and that is not the West Ham way.

I want us as MP always says to play the right way whether winning or losing but that determination has to come from the players.

  1. We have a manager who is either too arrogant or simply unable to change or adapt his tactical philosophy and the result is what we are currently experiencing.
We have a squad that, even discounting the loss of 2 – yes 2 – players is consistently found wanting in both commitment and consistent performance.
Compete for Europe?…….this squad is nowhere near good enough in its present incarnation.

  2. Apart from snod they are a disgrace to the kit the lot of them that goes for m.p and his staff to …they just quit like you say and that’s the worse thing ever…I was praying I would wake up and he was sacked …he is still here so that’s the end of that …they would rather not pay him up to leave but they will loose over hundred million when he takes us down…the fans won’t put up with this ,it’s a time bomb waiting to go off…he should of been sacked straight away..it’s a disgrace

  3. The reason its a time bomb waiting to go off is the fact that there is not a glint of light at the end of the tunnel to even suggest we can come out of this awful slump.Far too many luxury players in this team and not enough scrappers.Yesterday sums it up perfectly.

  4. When your reserve keeper makes mistakes EVERY game he plays that leads to goals and the manager still picks him again and he makes 2 more that lead directly to 2 more and throws in fornals away at Burnley of all places then he is clearly clueless of the teams we are playing like his comments about Sheffield Utd the other week .

  5. Sorry, but the whole approach of “we’ll score more than you” has always been a route to disaster. The most successful teams are always built upon a rock solid defence. That doesn’t mean a defensive approach or a non entertaining style of play. I’m not convinced Pellegrini has any ideas defensively.

  6. Ok fine sack him ask yourself who would come in and more to the point who would want to come in, not many I suspect.
