EFL decision could help West Ham pursuit of defensive duo

Wigan Athletic’s relegation from the Sky Bet Championship has been confirmed after the Latics failed in their appeal to get a 12-point deduction for going into administration overturned The Latics will play in League One next season, with the points penalty seeing them drop into the Championship’s bottom three, along with Charlton Athletic and Hull City.

ItAn EFL statement confirmed: “An independent arbitration panel has ruled that Wigan Athletic’s 12-point deduction for entering administration last month will stand after dismissing the club’s appeal against the sporting sanction.”

The news could provide more chance for West Ham to sign targets including Antonee Robinson and Cedric Kipre.

Moyes was spotted on a  scouting mission at the Valley as Charlton Athletic played Wigan in the last week of the Championship season.

He is claimed to admire the two Wigan players in the form of  22-year-old left-back Robinson and 23-year-old French central defender Kipré.
