Eight arrests at Wembley clash with Spurs

England v Lithuania - FIFA 2018 World Cup QualifierEight people were arrested on Wednesday night’s match between Spurs and West Ham at Wembley says the Met Police

A 32-year-old and a 40-year-old man were both arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs, a 21-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault on a police officer and a 43-year-old and a 21-year-old man were both arrested on suspicion of assault. In addition, a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray.

Met police say they are investigating the incident where a Spurs supporter appears to throw a pint of Urine over West Ham supporters while reports of missile throwing within Wembley stadium by both sets of fans is also being investigated.

Police have remained quiet about a couple of incidents caught on video in which West Ham fans were coshed with batons.

  1. Strangely enough the police are allowed to defend themselves. They don’t have to just stand there whilst people threaten them and throw things at them.

  2. Maybe I misread but it doesn’t say what teams those arrested were supporting ? I suspect those on posession of class a drugs were Tottenham they are probably medicinal to help them deal with that affliction 😉

  3. Why do people who take drugs take them into a football stadium where being searched is a condition of entry? They deserve to be arrested and banned for sheer stupidity.
