Emerson Injury Update

With the mini-crisis looming at left back thanks to Aaron Cresswell’s hamstring injury and recovery on-going, plus Emerson‘s withdrawal on Saturday following a knee impact injury, it is fair to say that many at West Ham will have been sweating on news from the medical centre.

Early news from Jack Rosser at The Sun throws light on the situation: Posting this afternoon on his Twitter / X account, the Football Reporter has stated:

“West Ham hopeful Emerson has avoided serious injury after scans today. Picked up a thigh problem at Fulham but scans showed nothing too concerning”.

Thigh? Umm – I thought it was his knee as stated by Lopetegui: But we will focus on the good news of the scan showing nothing too concerning!

So, hopefully recovery should be sooner rather than later. I guess we need to wait for Julen Lopetegui’s press conference before the Chelsea fixture to see if Emerson has made it in time for the London derby. If not then Coufal and Wan-Bissaka will resume their defensive double act again.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.
