Emerson reveals Paqueta debt

Emerson Palmieri has revealed that he is doing his best to help Lucas Paqueta settle into his time at West Ham.

The Hammers snapped up the attacking midfielder from Lyon in the summer and he is continuing to adapt to life in England.

He is currently injured, of course, and missed the 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at the weekend due to his shoulder issue.

Emerson was also signed in the summer, arriving from Chelsea, and he has now revealed that he is doing everything he can to help Paqueta settle in because he owes him!

Emerson was loaned to Lyon in the 2021/22 season and was helped to settle in by the Brazilian, and he is now repaying the favour.

Being interviewed by Gazzetta dello Sport, as transcribed by Sport Witness, Emerson said: “He is a friend of mine and I want to help him adapt to the Premier, both on and off the pitch. He did the same with me at Lyon last year, now it’s my turn. For me it’s a natural thing because I’m giving a hand to a friend.”

Emerson has been used somewhat sparingly by boss David Moyes but has made seven appearances in the Premier League already.
