Emerson threat hangs over Hammers

Roma are being reported as being ready to move in on Emerson this summer.

And that is a very real threat to the Hammers as it could be argued that the left back is right up there with the best signings to arrive under David Moyes.

He has been as consistent as any left sided in the league and the problem may be is that it is being said he would be happy to re-sign for his former club.

The 29 year old had three seasons at Roma between 2015-18 and Il Romanista claims that he would be happy to return to the club at which he made 34 appearances.

He moved on to Chelsea for another four seasons after that, one of which was spent with Lyon on loan before Moyes moved in on him in 2022.

He is contracted to the Hammers until 2026 with the club also holding a one year option on the Italian international who has made 29 appearances for his national team.
