Hammers Fans Inspire Crucial Victory
West Ham United boss Nuno Espírito Santo reserved special praise for the club’s travelling supporters following Wednesday night’s vital 1–0 Premier League victory over Fulham.
The thousands of West Ham fans who made the journey to Craven Cottage once again demonstrated exactly why they are unmatched and regularly out-sing opposition fans.
From the first whistle to the last, the travelling claret and blue army were in superb voice. Songs echoed around the Putney End throughout the match as West Ham battled for a massively crucial win which looks all the better following Spurs loss last night.
Several away supporters even told me afterwards that it was the best atmosphere of the season — and anyone inside the cottage would struggle to disagree.
The unity between the West Ham players and supporters was clear to see. This was not just another away win. It felt like a moment where the club, the squad and the fans all pulled together when it mattered most. I might not have been there in person but even from the TV broadcast it was evident how much the players wanted to celebrate with fans.
Nuno Left Emotional By Support
At the final whistle, the celebrations said everything about the connection between team and supporters.
Players and staff headed straight over to the travelling fans to celebrate in front of the Putney End, while Nuno Espírito Santo looked visibly emotional as he applauded the West Ham faithful who had made the trip across London.
The Hammers boss later admitted just how much the backing meant to the team.
“So, I’m very proud of the work, and a special word for our fans. I think they understand the moment of the team, the need that the team has for their support and today, it goes for them.
“We cannot thank them enough, honestly.
“The noise from our supporters was amazing.
“We were there suffering and the way they are supporting our players, I think they realise — I repeat myself — they realise the moment of the club and we need them all.”

This is fun again!!!!
As the manager pretty much said, everyone who has followed WHU know exactly what is going on within the team and can see it on the pitch and really admire what they are doing (coaches + players, all together), fighting for each other and playing as a team with pride in their performances and always looking to win games against anyone.
Nuno is on a one man mission to pull this club together and not get relegated and I for one support you in that. Well done Nuno and I hope you win the fight, just don’t expect too much help from the money grabbing poor decision msking board.
Great to hear. But just WHO was that noisy fan mentioned in your headline?
It might have been you mate 😉⚒️
