Banza Bonanza in Striker Search?

West Ham United‘s striker search takes a promising turn with reports suggesting both Youssef En-Nesyri and Simon Banza are keen on joining the club.

Moroccan forward En-Nesyri is the transfer link which won’t go away but the Banzi link is an intriguing one.

Braga’s prolific forward is also reportedly drawn to the Premier League. His impressive 23-goal season makes him a valuable prospect. However, acquiring him might be complicated due to his hefty £34 million release clause and contract valid until 2027. While finances might not be a hurdle (Banza’s current salary is under £16,000 per week), negotiations could be lengthy.

Banza offers promise, but acquiring him could be a steeper climb financially and in terms of negotiation complexity. However, it is refreshing to see an alternative hat thrown in the ring rather than the usual tired old names.

Tim Steidten was not brought in to West Ham to identify and sign players such as Youssef En-Nesyri. The Hammers director of football has been mandated with recruiting Young unheralded and upcoming talent, therefore the transfer links to Banza surely carry more weight.

Both players are 27, but En-Nesyri is 10 months younger
      Youssef En-Nesyri born 1 June 1997
Simon Banza born 13 August 1996

    You g, unheralded & up & coming?!?!
Banza is older than En Nesyri & has had one good season in his career in the Portuguese league.
En Nesyri is younger, cheaper (£10-15m potentially) & has consistently performed not only in a stronger league but also in Europe.
Not to mention he is familiar with Lopetegui’s tactics having successfully worked with him previously.
