Enner Valencia joins Everton

|

valenciaChairman’s son Jack Sullivan has revealed that Enner Valencia has joined Everton on a season long loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. Jack received a call from David Sullivan senior while live on air on the Phoenix FM radio show to confirm the news that Valencia has departed the club.

The Everton deal is thought to include paying Valencia’s £40,000 per week wages in full plus a £1.5m loan fee with an option to buy at £14.5m at the end of the season.

The Everton deal will have to be completed without meeting Valencia as the forward is with Ecuador preparing for tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier against Brazil in Quito. A medical is thought to have been completed in South America.

This news appears to have concluded our transfer dealings for this summer.

With a few minutes left before the transfer window ended Everton confirmed the news on twitter saying: “DEAL DONE: arrives from on a season-long loan.

“The deal includes the option of a permanent deal. Valencia will link up next week after international duty. .”

West Ham followed suit on WHUFC.com at four minutes to eleven saying: “West Ham United striker Enner Valencia has joined Everton on a season-long loan with a view to buy in summer 2017. The Ecuador international will link up with the Toffees for the 2016/17 campaign on his return from international duty in South America. Valencia has appeared 67 times for West Ham since joining from Mexican club Pachuca in summer 2014, scoring ten goals.Under Premier League rules, the 26-year-old will not be able to play against the Hammers this season. West Ham United would like to wish Enner the best in his loan spell with the Toffees.”

    PHEW!!!!!

Sorry Everton, it’s nothing personal, someone had to be foolish enough to take him off our hands.

    • Paul says:

I can see him re-capturing his early form from last year and playing well for Everton when asked. He needs a break and to rebuild his confidence.Still only 26 .. Good Luck Valencia you gave us all you had!!

  • RickHammer says:

That is a touch. What a result. My only fear is they won’t want him at the end of the season. Its got to be a real possibility!!

  • NESTACRES says:

I liked him. He tried hard but it just didn’t work out for him. Hopefully he’ll do well for Everton so they buy him. The goal v Hull was a good one though!

    • essexclarets says:

Prob thinks they have signed Antonio Valencia

    • TRB says:

I like Enner Valencia as well……… Being on and out of the team through injury didn’t help his confidence. Whenever he played up front with Diafra Sakho, he looked particularly good as they worked well together . I can see him forging the same type of partnership with Lukaku.

  • essexclarets says:

Thanks for all the good times enner…… oh hang on a minute, there wasn’t many.
    cheers mate, bye

  • RickHammer says:

We won’t seen the last of Valencia.Sky jumping about telling Everton fans they have great news for them, they have signed Valencia. They are going to be so disappointed in about 5 games

    • GW says:

Funniest line of the night Rick 🙂 But we’ve had no news on the WBA tickets and Daphne had to throw out 2 disruptive individuals at the meeting after fighting over a tea cake.

      • RickHammer says:

Lmao There is some matey on Wet Pants saying we should never have loaned him to Everton because it’s ‘ridiculous’ & we have ****ed up because if he scores goals for them & they finish above us we have shot ourselves in the foot loooooool

        • GW says:

Anyone remember that Everton fan that was on here last year claiming they were a bigger club? Well if your lurking I’ll just say Biggins is on his way!! Big club LMAO

  • Dunlopilo says:

And that is how Zaza will inherit the number 11….

  • markro says:

I’m worried about Enner’s first touch with the pen on the contract.

    Result

  • Prof says:

…and what are we doing with Sakho?

    • RickHammer says:

Taking his phone off him so he can’t harass girlfriends.Giving him driving lessons & keeping him away from Senegalese witch doctors.

  • bubs says:

Glad I changed my donkeys name last week, did not want him to carry that burden of being named after a toffee,
Well that’s one temptation taken from Slav now we have 2 natural RB,s that should stop another,
Now we need him to realise Tore is not the player he once knew at the moment and may never be,
Then when he gets the balance and everything is working he does not need to mess it up putting AC straight back in the team,
Now if Payet and Lanzini are fit for our next games I am getting the buzz again,
    COYI

    • RickHammer says:

You must have watched a fair bit of Arbeloa in Spain bubs.Seems a good player to me.Ageing a little but I still think he could do a turn for us for a year don’t you?

  • TRB says:

Are you the same guys who were slagging off Miaga a year or so ago? Both Valencia and Sakho were better than him, but he had no chance in winning you over. There’s no hope for Calleri, Fletcher and Zaza should they lose confidence of become injured, is there? Three league games in……..and I’ve already read on here how rubbish Tore and Nordtveit are.

    • essexclarets says:

How long do you wait for a player to prove themselves? He’s been here over two years now and played over 60 times, he has managed 8 league goals & 2 cup. In over 50 games he didn’t score.. I know he has had injuries but all players do, he was meant to be our top front man, club’s £12m record signing (at the time), the star to bang in the goals. Hasn’t really worked out has it.

  • Michael Miller says:

Unbelievable – I was starting to panic!

Loan with a view to a £14.5 million Transfer – I bet that never happens!

  • Radai Lama...Rises From The Ashes says:

I ain’t rubbished either.I rated both.I wanted Tore & still think Nordy could work out.F*ck me if you think we slag players I take it you don’t use WHTID.They murder players after them playing 10 mins for us lol 🙂

  • Stan The Man says:

I think you are on the wrong site TRB.Take a left at the end of the street, turn right at the roundabout & you will find Wetlands mansion. They are the ones that crucify players after one match.Last season it was Antionio this season it’s Tore.
There again maybe you know what their like but just wanted to slag us off us lmao

    • GW says:

Bad news is that one of Daphne’s crew knows someone who works with someone else who once went to Spain on a package holiday via easy jet landing at Malaga and were told that Arbeloa’s legs have gone 🙂

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

I liked Valencia but he was getting lower and lower in confidence, I wouldn’t be surprised if he does better with Everton than he did with us, he is s grafter even if he is lightweight and gets knocked off the ball too often. Wish him all the best in the future, he gave his all for us but it didn’t work out, imo the criticism of him was harsh but hey we all have opinions 🙂 I came to this thread to see just how many replies it would get and wow it could be one of the longest 😀

    • johnboy says:

His favourite song 32 was – I get knocked down , but I get up again , ? I was of the same thoughts as yourself , but the city game pushed me over the edge, lol. To stop chasing Silva in the way he did was a fukin joke ? His confidence was low you say ? I say he was looking for a new career as a limbo dancer ? He was on his ass so much he developed green piles ?.
      :-).

  • johnboy says:

Sullivan’s reply to bill kenwrite when asked what does Valencia bring to the table ?
A ball of wool and a pair of studless boots! Also he likes chasing chickens with no heads in a blindfold lol.
    What a fukin result ?
Koeman s clearly having a breakdown ?? Can’t wait to see his face when the mushrooms wear off. 🙂 . Hope Johnham OK? . 😉

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Good job he didn’t join Swansea or we might have heard a tag line Enner The Dragon, it is it might be Ennerton Toffee 🙂

  • Stan The Man says:

Johnham has just bought an Everton season ticket lmao

  • johnboy says:

There’s bundles of scouse gifts wetting themselves with the loan , 4 suicides so far ,
Wait till they pay the 14.5 mill next year . :-). Must make sure I can get close enough to koeman’s breakfast ? Again !!!! :-). McCarthy’s revenge !! Hahahah I love it . 😉

  • Roman says:

It seems not all that long ago under the tutelage of the Fatman that Sahko & Valencia were like Batman & Robin in the forward zone.I wish him well.

  • joshwhite1990 says:

Oh I am a happy hammer today! Best move we’ve made since signing Payet Lol. Haha, Johnboy I think the green piles was probably right, I’ve never known anybody to fall over so much, it’s like he’s playing in bowling shoes!!

I’m so glad that, as one of you already said, that’s one temptation gone for Slav now, I don’t care if Enner scores against us in both games against Everton this season, anything to keep him away from our squad! Tore needs to just go! We’ve got enough midfielders so for me he’ll have to do something very special to be worth anything!

I think all the other signings have been ok, none that great. I am excited to see what Zaza brings to the table. Once we have a fully fit team I think we can expect a very good push for Europe again!

I would like to see Martinez given some game time in the first team after seeing the goal against Coventry. Watched a few clips of him and checked his record out. The boy is clearly gifted…maybe while we’re low on men give him a chance to build some first team confidence

Anyway, now the deadwood is gone I think it’s onwards and upwards from here. Hopefully something can be worked out with Sak because if he wants to play for us, is can cause problems for any defence!

  • mattefumi27 says:

I’d have given him one more chance… but think again. It’s just three years of experience in PL… different climate, different language, different food, different figas, right-hand drive cars, there’s no sea, … I mean, so many problems… not to mention that smile that lights up a room… bad decision… lmao 😀

  • Michael Miller says:

I think this is the best thing to happen in the Transfer Window, Valencia was a lightweight who didn’t fit into the Team, the play seemed to go on around him, he couldn’t hold onto the ball, losing it continuously and frustrating his colleagues and us punters.

I’ve heard that West Ham’s counter-attacking style of play didn’t suit him, that the ball came up to him too fast and so on. I don’t know about that, he just seemed to be out of his depth, the play was breaking down with him all the time, his confidence was shot and the crowd were getting on to him.

It’s very curious what Everton see in him, they’ve got this guy in from Leicester who’s been given a lot of the credit for recruiting their Premiership winning squad, you wonder what he sees in Valencia that the rest of us can’t!
