Etherington and the Irons

EtheringtonWest Ham are unlikely to allow Matthew Etherington to make a second Upton Park coming.

Speculation has been rife that the former Irons winger may be set for a return to the club on a free transfer.

Thr 33 year old has been released by Stoke City and has been training at Chadwell Heath as he looks for a club.

Many thought that may be the Irons but a ClaretandHugh source said: “I think it’s highly unlikely – it’s a bit worrying that Mark Hughes let him go.

“Nothing’s impossible but it is not one anybody has mentioned seriously at any stage.”

  1. I thought he was training with West Ham following a request from James Collins who was his Best Man.

  2. I heard he’d just come back to play poker with teddy sheringham
