Euro giants get Irons “hands off” warning

KouyWest Ham have tonight knocked back stories that AC Milan have made a bid for Cheikhou Kouyate.

Kouyate, 25, eventually joined the Hammers from Anderlecht in June at around £7 million fee and according to Calciomercato has been the subject of an AC approach.

But a Hammers source immediately knocked back the storytelling ClaretandHugh: “That’s news to us and Cheik is simply not to sale – end of story.

The Hammers goalscorer against Manchester United – who was outstanding as an emergency central defender – is another bargain buy by the club having been scouted by Sam Allardyce to become the first major signing of last summer.

Kouyate’s form has been monitored by AC but the player is very content with life at the Irons and is locked down until 2018.

Calciomercato has reported the Hammers have been approached about a possible summer move but our source said: ” Cheik was desperate for the move to this club and there’s no chance of him leaving in the summer.”

  1. Not a agent looking for a pay rise again? We have given him the chance and he has taken it and I think he is as valuable to us as Ya Ya is to Man City and for me he is the signing of this term,he is the midfielder we need to build our team around because like Song ( but not ours yet ) he gives the likes of Downing and Valencia time to play, he is Nolans replacement
With Noble,Alfitano and Downing we have the making of a good unit and with our new forwards we are 1 good central defender and a right back short of giving anyone a good game ( Jenkinson is not ours yet ) these players must stay Kouyate,Sakho,Valencia,Cresswell,Noble,Tomkins,Adrien,Downing,Alfitano,Collins,Oxford,
Booth.,Zarate, Jarvis and Carroll the rest must be culled and replaced with better players.

    • ‘Culled’ is a bit strong – the weaker, less effective members of the Squad should be encouraged to move along – in the last year this has happened to Joe Cole, Taylor, Collison, Diame and Vaz Te – the days of Kevin Nolan, Matt Jarvis and Carlton Cole must be numbered!

Getting back to the ‘speculation’ about possible interest on Kouyate – it’s probably his Agent stirring the pot, but realistically everyone is for sale – it’s just a question of the price!

But Kouyate was great yesterday, I just want to see him have a good run in the Team.

  2. i would get rid of Carroll as well while he still got a value

    • Spot on Joe.He is not sound and when he plays our game is too predictable.Perhaps Newcastle might be interested? Throw Nolan into the bargain. Two for the price of one.

  3. Got to keep him.He is really valuable to us.But for me the highlight of the football day was seeing a pic of Harry Kane in a Gooners shirt again at a victory parade for their invincables team.Lovely dyed red hair as well.Sorry Spuds but he aint one of your own.I know it isnt Irons related but somethings are worth enjoying even when not anything to do with West Ham 🙂

  4. I hope we’ll sell Carroll, I think we could gain from this sale approximately 10/12 million pounds. We could use that money for a couple of perspective young players: one good defender and one speed and technically gifted striker.
