West Ham must face an agonising wait to find out if they have qualified for Europa League through the Premier League Fair Play table. The Premier League Fair League table is calculated over the full 38 games but takes some time to calculate the results compiled by judge and compile the final table. A West Ham insider told Claret and Hugh that the club should officially find out by Saturday 30th May latest.
The fair play table was updated on 5th May including games played up to 30th April. After 34 games West Ham had scored 1125 points just one point behind Liverpool who topped the table, Everton were in third place 10 points behind West Ham.
Since that update West Ham have picked up six yellow cards, while Everton have picked up eight and Liverpool nine.
However, Yellow and red cards make up a small percentage of the Fair play league scores. Teams receive -1 point for each yellow card and -3 for every red card. Up to 10 points are awarded for positive attacking play and behaviour of the team’s supporters earns another 10 points. Respect towards opponents and respect to the referee make up 7 points each while behaviour of team officials can score six points.
Liverpool finished in sixth place after losing 6-1 to Stoke on the final day. However, they will qualify for Europa league because Chelsea’s place from winning the League cup will be given to them.
However, West Ham chairman says he is 99.9% sure we have qualified for Europa.
So it looks pretty good looking at how the Everton games have gone versus ours,
Find the right leader and off we go,it like going on a mystery holiday
Exciting times,new manager,maybe europe,summer signings & no hippo.Cant get better than that!
