Everton get “no chance” response on top Iron

LanziniManu Lanzini is “not for sale at any price.”

New reports have surfaced this morning that Everton are keen to bid for our star midfielder given the likely loss of Ross Barkley in the summer.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is an admirer of Lanzini who has also been linked with the other merseyside outfit Liverpool .

However, Lanzini is under a watertight contract at West Ham after the Irons bought it out when he signed from Al Jazira after spending a year on loan for £8 million.

And after a story appeared in the Daily Mirror this morning claiming an interest from Everton we were immediately told: “There’s no chance of anyone signing Manu. He is on a contract until 2020 and it is watertight.

“Speclation will always arise around the best players but this is a non starter – he is going absolutely nowhere.”

  1. No such thing as a watertight contract if the player in question really wants to leave.

    I sure hope Lanzini doesn’t.

  2. To state the obvious – if the Player or more importantly his Agent want to go – he’ll go.

Anyway, I thought Everton are in pole position to get Sigurdsson from Swansea – if that goes through they might turn to other priorities.

  3. The board said the same thing about Payet last year who was set to spend his best years at West Ham, they need to make some BIG signings to send a message to the squad we are going to compete next year, not has been’s like Zabaletta looking for a last big pay cheque, hungry players that won’t accept the laziness we have seen this season.

Lanzini isn’t going to waste a career he could be spending winning trophies, so a message to the board pay over the odds and attract the best targets, if you have to change the manager to attract them look for one that is a superior coach such as a Conte type but that plays exciting football (such as Bielsa) then we can build for the future, lets not let another future World Class player slip through our fingers because the squad which is full of quality isn’t trained well enough to produce it week in, week out COYI !!!
