Manuel Pellegrini told BT Sport viewers that Everton had more energy than West Ham on Saturday when he spoke to the cameras post defeat.
The manager said: “When you are in Everton’s situation you have more energy. It happened last season with our team here in the same stadium. We came to play against Everton after four defeats and beat them 3-1.”
The energy claim is a strange one and maybe lost in translation as both teams had the same amount of rest and had players on international duty. It would be true to say Everton had more desire and passion than the Hammers to win on Saturday but not so sure on the energy comment.
Maybe the West Ham players needed some energy drink before kick off, the club did sign an official energy drink partner in the form of Monster last month. Everton also signed a partnership with Monster on the same week as West Ham.
Monster’s slogan is is “Unleash the Beast” which is supposed to mean if you drink it, you can do anything. 😉
That performance on Saturday was absolutely disgraceful.Too many players didn’t want to know,Lanzini was a disgrace to the shirt,terrified of contact,Anderson likewise,Haller was awful too,Fornals ??? Pellegrini was also tactically inept,wrong formation and selection.Time to try something new in regards formation as current one not working!
