Everton are said to have the edge over West Ham in the hunt for Jack Grealish, according to the talkSPORT transfer rumours show.
Grealish is known to be unwanted at the Etihad now Pep Guardiola has overhauled his Manchester City squad.
The Hammers were linked with the £100m man early in the window, but a club source indicated to C&H that the transfer was unlikely. Grealish was said to be “not the player he was two years ago,” which is possibly true enough—but the move for Callum Wilson throws that logic out of the window.
Most had assumed West Ham’s stance meant any interest in the 29-year-old was over, but according to talkSPORT, we’re still interested. And that’s where it becomes even more bizarre with the links to Everton.
Because Jack Grealish is just about the least David Moyes-type player I can possibly imagine. Whilst I don’t believe for a second that the Irons have serious interest in the former Villa man, I can actually imagine him suiting Graham Potter’s style of football.
But I just can’t see him as part of Moyesie’s Toffees set-up—but I guess stranger things have happened.
Grealish is believed to be available on loan, which is unsurprising given his transfer fee. That said, even his rumoured £300k-per-week wages will have to be heavily subsidised, and I can’t see too many clubs willing or able to afford the deal.

No thank you, move on. Plenty of places I’d tell this lad to go but the Lodon Stadium is not one of them.
