Everton v West Ham United Preview
Premier League – Hill Dickinson Stadium – Monday 29 September 2025, 8pm BST
First trip to Everton’s new home
West Ham United head to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time on Monday night, hoping to record back-to-back away wins following the recent 3-0 triumph at Nottingham Forest.
The Irons will want maximum points before a tricky visit to Arsenal and the looming international break. But Everton under David Moyes have quickly made their new ground a fortress – unbeaten, watertight and sitting tenth in the table with two wins, two losses and a draw so far.
Moyes reunion
It’s Moyesie in opposite dugout. Graham Potter was quick to praise his predecessor:
“Everton have been good, as you’d expect from a David Moyes team – very well organised… they’ve got lots of options in the attack, and as I said, it’ll be a tough game.”
Potter highlighted Jack Grealish, Beto and Iliman Ndiaye as danger men, while also warning about Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s ability to find space. The narrative has an additional twist given chairman David Sullivan’s observation during the summer window that Grealish wasn’t the player he was a couple of years ago. Whoops!
Team news
-
West Ham: Aaron Wan-Bissaka remains sidelined with a stomach issue. Tomas Soucek serves the second match of his suspension.
-
Everton: Jarrad Branthwaite and Merlin Röhl are pushing for returns, while Adam Aznou could make his Premier League debut from the bench.
Moyes is expected to restore Grealish, Ndiaye and Dewsbury-Hall to his starting XI after heavy rotation in the midweek Carabao Cup defeat at Wolves.
Predicted line-ups
Everton (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Beto.
West Ham (4-2-3-1): Areola; Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Kilman, Diouf; Ward-Prowse, Fernandes; Paquetá, Bowen, Summerville; Füllkrug.
Opinion – Potter under pressure
This could well be Graham Potter’s last game in charge if results don’t turn. Senior Hammers figures are already interviewing replacements, and another defeat might tip the balance.
Callum Wilson looked sluggish against Crystal Palace and needs to be dropped. Max Kilman and James Ward-Prowse have both been underwhelming but could still start. One almost predictable possibility is Jarrod Bowen leading the line again, as Potter searches desperately for answers to his blunt attack.

May need a new prediction Gonzo, although will depend on who is in the dugout on Monday.
Have to hope JWP is out, which would a least lift the mood.
No AWB. Yet according to your OWN preview on HC, he IS available 🙄
The preview was recorded before Potters press conference.
Anyway mate, all you do is moan. Honestly, I’ve just looked back over your last 10 posts and it’s constant criticism.
I can’t be arsed to read it anymore so please go to a website and videos you actually enjoy. What’s the point in being miserable all the time and doing something you don’t like?
Cheers
We all know Potter doesn’t figure out who is playing until 2 hours before the game, so who’s prediction is this? Is it what you think Potter will pick, in which case it will be pretty close, or is it from someone else? No sign of Potts or any other youngster, so unless something changes from this it will be 3 points for Everton and a negative goal difference that is going to take until January to clear if Potter goes Tuesday. Arsenal will probably score a lot more than they did against Port Vale, possibly another 5.
Interesting for our board to see the manager they ditched, (and don’t believe this rubbish about the supporters, the board ditched him when they withdrew their offer 6 months before he left.)
How he does when backed by the people in charge and loved at Everton.
This has a stuff you lot written all over it…
Karen Brady can go on talk sport and talk about how they back their managers again…
I hope Prowse is not playing.
If you want to save your job Potter you need to play Potts or Massaga and put Marshall up front and leave Bowen up the right wing and lt Fernandes,Sommerville and Paqueta work together
Let’s see a change in your selection for the fans if not for yourself
