Everybody’s beatable including Arsenal
Everybody’s beatable including Arsenal although David Moyes gives the impression that going to that side of north London will be as tough as any game we will ever play. I’m not so sure because at our best as we showed against Spurs, Wolves and Manchester United we are a team to take very seriously indeed. The big three of Paqueta, Kudus and Bowen have changed things and they are as good as any players in the league. They give us a chance along with the likes of Alvarez and Ward-Prowse.
There is the renewal of rivalries with Declan Rice too after beating the Gooners in their first clash with the Irons following his decision that his love for us didn’t quite match his desire to leave. Sorry Dec, you did great for us. I am always optimistic of our chances against the big clubs as I work on the “only West Ham” principle, believing that we are capable of what some might call miracles.
That doesn’t stretch as far as Danny Ings scoring LOL but on this occasion I’m going for a 1-1 draw and I’ll plump for Kudus as the scorer of another special goal.
Moysie doesn’t seem to see it quite the same way and commented on the match at his press conference: “We can expect huge challenges on Thursday. Arsenal have always been a really hard team to beat. We had a good result against them in the Carabao Cup at London Stadium but the Premier League is a different competition and it brings out different players.
I’m sure Arsenal will get back to their full-strength team, and going to the Emirates Stadium is a never easy task either.”
The rest of it concerned his knowledge of Mikel Arteta and what a great manager he is so I won’t bother you with any of that as probably like me you really aren’t too interested.
