Ex claims Arsenal man is on radar

Ex WHU Employee claims the Hammers could make a loan move for Arsenal man Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the January transfer window.

The Hammers are looking to reinforce their defence in the winter window and will be on the lookout for a new centre-back, while David Moyes also wants to sign a striker.

And Maitland-Niles is said to have emerged as a target for the Hammers as they formalise their January plans.

The 24-year-old can play in midfield and on both sides of the defence as a full-back but he has seen his opportunities limited this season.

Under Mikel Arteta, he has played just eight times in the league, making two starts, and it seems inevitable that he will be allowed to leave soon enough.

An England international with five caps to his name, Maitland-Niles is likely to just want to play some football and the Hammers aren’t the only club interested; Fabrizio Romano reports that Italian side AS Roma are also interested in doing a deal for him.

  1. Would be a smart signing imho.

  2. Romano-Rightio. I will move on.

  3. Would the Gooners go for a loan tho?

  4. Can’t see a rival for top four spot doing us any favours
