EX gives his latest window news: Jack Clarke

ExWHUEmployee has updated the West Ham window as he understands it and claims that the main priority is a left winger.

He points out  – as has Claret and Hugh for the past couple of weeks or so – that a homegrown player is wanted as the Hammers aim to bring their allocation up to the required number.

Currently, Said Benrahma is usually used on that side when he makes an appearance but such has been his inconsistent form the Hammers are looking elsewhere according to Ex.

And that figures with what we have been told although we have also been told that currently there have been no offers from the player who cost us something in the region of £30 million from Brentford.

According to Ex, talking on The West Ham Way Patreon, homegrown Sunderland left winger Jack Clarke is a target for the Hammers.

He says the former Tottenham Hotspur player has impressed the Irons and that we have a very good relationship with the Mackems following the departure of  former Hammers academy players Alese and Ekwah to them.

He adds: “There is even discussions that could involve removing the sell on percentages agreed in those deals to bring down the overall cost but this is early speculation.”

Ex also claims that a move for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, is another option which Arsenal may accept on a loan deal to the Hammers with a view to a permanent deal.

  • Mr Buddy Lurve says:

I have to admit that I prefer the idea of a front three of forwards (Bowen, Kudus + one more) who can interchange and all score goals, rather than a traditional Antonio/Mubama style target man that we just lump balls up to…

…with Lucas Paqueta sitting behind them (as a 10) pulling the strings in midfield alongside JWP (as an 8) and Alvarez (as a 6). Soucek can deputise for Alvarez when required, or even play as a centre back (which is where I think he should be playing, given that his attributes are better suited there than in midfield).

We all wanted Bennie to do well, but if he is going to be kept on, he should be deputising for Paqueta in the centre, not on the wing where he has absolutely no end product.
