Ex: Hammers considering double City swoop

West Ham are considering a double swoop to sign Manchester City duo Nathan Ake and Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to Ex WHU Employee.

The noted insider reports that the City defensive duo could come into David Moyes’ sights as he aims to bring new blood into the squad.

Zinchenko and Ake are both said to be expendable to the Premier League champions this summer, with City actually trying to strengthen their squad, having already signed Erling Haaland.

The former played for Ukraine in their World Cup qualifying play-off against Scotland as they won 3-1 on Wednesday evening, while Ake is a Netherlands international with 25 caps to his name.

Ake is said to be something of a back-up target to Nayef Aguerd, but that deal is almost complete, while Zinchenko would arrive as more youthful competition for Aaron Cresswell, who is now the wrong side of 30.

Speaking on his Patreon earlier this week, Ex said: “Interestingly Manchester City have apparently said that Nathan Ake and Oleksandr Zinchenko would be available for transfer.

“We have had an interest in both players in the past and so moves for them might be considered.

“I would imagine if [Nayef] Aguerd does go through we would not sign Ake due to cost and him being left-sided.

“Another thing we brought was the desire to sign a new left-back to challenge Cresswell. Zinchenko would be the perfect man and his set plays also rival that of the former Hammer of the Year.

“Now of course there will be stiff competition from other clubs (Arsenal being one) and all these top targets are going to be expensive so we are not suggesting we will sign anywhere near the amount of targets we have, but it was an interesting development.

“The player prefers to play further forward than left-back too, so this could also be a factor in his decision as to who he joins.”

  1. Watched Zinchenko in midfield against Scotland and he was quality. Could be much more than a left back for us.

  2. Zinchenko, is poor. City’s weak link which we exploited recently
