West Ham could bde interested in swoopin  for Dejan Lovren on a free transfer.

The Athletic has reported that all foreign players currently playing in Russia are set to be allowed to find new clubs if they so wish amid the country’s current invasion of Ukraine.

As it stands, these deals can only be temporary, but Fifpro are pushing for the deals to be made permanent, and the Hammers have been linked with Lovren, who is currently playing for Zenit Saint Petersburg.

The Croatia international reached the World Cup final with his country in 2018 and has plenty of experience in the Premier League, having played 185 times for Liverpool and 31 times for Southampton.

He left to join Zenit ahead of the 2020/21 season but a top insider has told us that the club are keeping a close eye on Lovren’s situation ahead of a potential enquiry.

The centre-back is 32 so any permanent deal would only be on a short-term basis – a two-year contract is most likely – but he is being monitored.
