‘Exciting’ Hammer back in action

West Ham youngster Jayden Fevrier has posted about his return to action from injury after making his comeback against Manchester City at the weekend.

Fevrier was named in the squad for the first time this season, having struggled with injury woes.

And he subsequently took to Twitter to post a promising message after getting on the grass for the first time in a long time.

He wrote: “Happy to be back playing after 8 months out. God’s plan.”

Fevrier has been described by former Under-23 coach Dmitri Halajko as a really “exciting” talent, telling the club’s official website: “Jayden is a really direct, exciting player – he takes players on, one vs one, and scored some impressive goals for the U18s and U23s last year. I’m sure he’ll continue to make a really big impact with the U23s group next season.”

West Ham had previously handed the youngster a new contract for another year, also holding the option to extend that by a further year.

The 18-year-old plays primarily as a left-back but also has the option to operate on the side of the midfield. In total, he has played 30 times for the U18s, scoring seven times and registering seven assists, and he has also made 12 appearances for the U23s.
