West Ham have not seen their young Dutch flyer since Graham Potter’s first game in charge in January. To All intents and purposes, Crysencio Summerville will feel like a new signing when he finally gets back onto the pitch. A hamstring injury, half fixed and then worsened, meant the youngster had to undergo surgery at the end of the season and is still in rehab mode although training with the squad and travelling with them to Germany this week.

The club have advised that Summerville won’t be going on the USA tour owing to the long-haul travel effect on his continuing recovery. According to the player himself speaking on video to WHUFC.COM, there is much to look forward to.

In a philosophical mood, the Dutch u21 international showed wisdom beyond his years proclaiming:”Everyone gets a setback: Its how you bounce back’ that is important”.

Summerville proclaimed “It feels for me like I’m still a new signing because I didn’t play much last season, so I couldn’t show my abilities.

“So what excites me the most is getting to play in front of the fans again and showing them what I’m capable of: And when I’m back, it’s going to be showtime; that’s what I can say.”

Rumours have it that Crysencio will be back and firing on all cylinders early in September – earlier than was first forecast and something for West Ham fans to look forward to .

Under Lopetegui it seemed the player and coach were unsure of his best role: Graham Potter has decreed he’ll play on the left and fill – brilliantly – the vacuum left by the departing Mohammed Kudus. And I know I’m not alone in hoping that within a few short weeks we’re all so impressed with ‘Cry’ that the question on everyone’s lips is ‘Mohammed who”?

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.
