Exciting times !
Who would have thought it?
Only a few weeks ago , with no new faces, getting thumped 4-0 in a pre-season friendly , stories of fallouts between Steidten and Moyes and a feeling of “here we go again”
But what a turnaround !
We could argue that – on paper at least- this possibly the best ever transfer window we have ever had…and we are not finished yet !
There is so much to look forward to
We are second in the Premier League , I know we have only played three games and the cynics may say that we are now only 33 points from safety, but let’s enjoy it for what it is.
A successful visit to the Hatters on Friday will send us to the summit again.
And that Friday gets even better
As the Europa League group stage draw for West Ham takes place from midday UK time, where will learn our Europa League group stage opponents
The draw will feature 32 teams – the 16 automatic qualifiers including the Irons, as well as the 10 play-off round winners set to be confirmed on Thursday night along with the identities of the six losers of the UEFA Champions League play-off round.
And finally before the window shuts at 11pm, we have the real possibility of at least one new striker arriving.
Exciting times indeed !
Buying the players is one thing,, but you can’t assume that Moyes will play them, play them in their strongest position, or play a system that suits their strengths. We know that not all of these players were Moyes picks so there’s no guarantees they will be his first choice on the team sheet. I suspect it will be a while before we see Mavropanos in the team. Jury’s still out on Moyes for me, but I can’t help being excited about what could be with these new players arriving.
So maybe next time a bit of patience before you start screaming, “Moyes Out!”? That’d be good…
I will assume you of course have never got anything wrong and you may have not noticed we ran a piece saying exactly that. We headed it Floor is your Moyes
