A top West Ham insider revealed to Claret & Hugh this evening that there remains the smallest chance the club could still pull off a remarkable transfer for Jhon Duran.

Yesterday, the same Hammers source unequivocally denied any interest in injury-prone Roma striker Tammy Abraham. So this evening, we asked if the deal to sign Aston Villa’s Duran was completely dead.

Our top contact at the London Stadium replied, “There is still a 1% chance, but we have no available slots and need players to leave.” Earlier today, the same source reiterated, “We have no money.”

It seems highly unlikely that the Hammers will sign the Colombian striker. However, if certain conditions fall into place, there could be an option to make the transfer happen.

Reading between the lines, Danny Ings and perhaps Michail Antonio would have to leave, or possibly the nuclear option of Edson Álvarez to Manchester United, as detailed this afternoon on C&H.

Either way, it’s going to be a busy couple of days.

Duran or Abraham are luxuries but it appears neither are affordable.
Unless someone is telling porkie pies (lies).
    Media speculation again.
Duran has burnt his bridges and won’t start unless Watkins is injured or suspended.
Now has love/hate relationship that Moyes had with certain players that he only played when necessary.
Believes 1 goal at whu has made him a blue-eyed boy, how wrong he is.

Yes, 1% is a chance, but not worth a write up.

  • Ian says:

So in other words it’s 99% dead.

Linked with a move to Chelsea now. Probably more likely than Toney. Nothing about us.

He’s not leaving VP this late in the window, still can’t believe the money you spent on a 32yr old instead but that’s Sully economics 101.
