Alongside the news relating to Brian Brobbey, Andre Silva and West Ham’s final phase negotiating for the urgently needed striker, the other articles which have been flying around in the last 24 hours relate to first Marseille and then this morning Juventus seeking to ‘test the water’ in a bid to take one of West Ham’s summer arrivals away from London Stadium.

As Claret and Hugh  confirmed last night, Jean-Clair Todibo has been the subject of interest from Juventus, who have sought to try and take the Hammers’ central defender to Turin. To clear up uncertainty and find out exactly the position in respect of Todibo’s future at London Stadium, we approached our highly placed source at the club again this morning – busy week – and asked whether Juventus, as reported in the media this morning, ‘want to take over West Ham’s deal for the defender’. We received a pretty straightforward answer:

“No. [They] just want to loan him for a season and he’s injured, and we only have 3 centre backs so a total non-runner.”

Pretty conclusive then. Despite rumours and stories today to the contrary, Jean-Clair Todibo won’t be heading off to Italy any time soon.

Whilst West Ham have a big ‘purchase’ option payment due to former club Nice in order to complete the loan-to-buy deal in the summer, there is no intention of letting the 25 year old leave.

The Hammers have enough defensive problems just now in any case with Mavropanos suspended and Todibo himself out with a calf injury for the next few weeks. If anything, West Ham need to ADD to the centre-back ranks rather than deplete the squad by considering an exit for a player they haven’t even paid for yet!

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Hopefully with Steidten gone, I transfer progress with Potter’s preferred team may be smoother

Is it true Bonzo has offered to play against Villa on Sunday to help Mr Potter out.
His 70 odd year old bones are still better than any of our present centre backs.
